What is in the chest?
Three hoards, each with its own treasures, and within a hoard the common things are common: a handful of copper comes up ten times as often as a potion. Press SPIN! and the party finds something:
Copper, silver or gold
Click a hoard to put it on the wheel or take it off. A first-level party opens the copper chest; the dragon under the mountain is sleeping on the gold one:
Open a hoard to see what is in it, untick what does not fit your world, and add your own:
How common is common?
The number after the x is how often a treasure turns up against the others in its hoard. Change it and the wheel changes with it:
๐ฐ|Handful of copper|x10– the usual find.๐งช|Potion of healing|x2– five times rarer than the copper.๐ก๏ธ|A blade that glows|x1– the one the party will remember.- The list beside the wheel writes each one out as a percentage.
At the table
- Roll the hoard as the party opens the chest, live, with the players watching.
- Build a session’s loot beforehand: spin five times and write the results down.
- Random shop stock: spin for what the merchant happens to have.
- A reward for a quest, where you want the party to feel the luck rather than your hand.
Counter shows what the wheel has actually given out over a campaign – useful when the party swears they never find anything good:
