Start the 30 second timer
Thirty seconds go fast, so the timer starts the moment you press the button – no settings to get through first.
Press Start and the countdown runs: big numbers you can read from across the room and a ring that empties as the time goes. Pause stops it, Go on carries on, and Start over puts the full time back.
A quiet signal at the end
When the time is up the page says Time is up! and plays a short, soft chime – three bell notes, twice – and the phone vibrates where it can. Untick Sound for a silent timer; the page remembers your choice.
What people use it for
- Party games: thirty seconds to guess the word or name five things.
- Exercise: a wall sit, a plank, jumping jacks between two sets.
- Hand washing for long enough, or brushing one side of the teeth.
- A lightning round in class: everyone writes one idea before the chime.
Any other time
For a longer time, +1 min adds a minute before you start, or type a time into Your own time – 1:30 for a minute and a half – and press Set. The space bar starts and stops the timer.
Full screen
Full screen fills a projector, a TV or a tablet with the countdown, nothing else.
