Groups in one click
Put the names of the class on the wheel – one per line, or pasted from a list – and choose how to split them: a number of groups, or a number of people in each. Twenty students in groups of four make five groups, and the generator spreads any extra people fairly.
All at once, or one spin at a time
Make every group in one go, or spin the wheel and draft the class name by name – the suspense is half the fun in a classroom. Every name comes off the wheel once it has a group.
Keep people apart or together
Two friends who never work when they sit together? Name them as a pair to keep apart. A pupil who needs a buddy? Keep those two together. The groups follow the rule and stay random otherwise.
Ideas for the classroom
- Group projects and presentations.
- Lab partners, reading circles, stations.
- Workshops and training days: mix people who do not usually meet.
