Spin and see what you win
The lucky wheel is the oldest game at any fair: a wheel of prizes, one spin, and the pointer decides. Press SPIN! and see where your luck lands:
The odds on this wheel
Not every slice is the same size, and that is the point. The bigger the slice, the more often the wheel stops there:
- Jackpot – 1 spin in 20 (5%). The thinnest slice on the wheel.
- Small prize and Try again – 1 in 5 each (20%).
- Free spin – 3 in 20 (15%).
- Lucky 7, Big prize, Double it and Mystery prize – 1 in 10 each (10%).
Under the wheel, the counter shows how often each slice has come up so far next to how often it should. Spin twenty times and the jackpot may not show up at all – spin two hundred and it comes close to its 5%:
Your own prizes and odds
Edit the list and the wheel is yours. One prize per line; a colour code gives the slice its colour, and a number after an x sets how big it is – Chocolate bar|#8d6e63|x3 is three times the size of a slice with no number:
- Make the main prize rare:
|x0.5or even|x0.2. - Make the small, cheap prizes common:
|x3. - Keep one or two Try again slices, or nobody believes the jackpot is real.
Where to use a lucky wheel
- Parties and birthdays – every guest spins once on the way in.
- Classrooms – a spin as a reward for finished homework, with small prizes and a rare “no homework” jackpot.
- Shops, stands and fairs – a wheel on a tablet at the counter, for a discount or a gift.
- Streams – viewers earn a spin, the wheel decides the challenge.
- Team events – a lucky wheel at the end of the quarter, with real prizes.
Spin again
Free spin, Double it and Lucky 7 are yours to define: a second spin, double the prize, or whatever seven means at your table. Past winners keeps every result, newest first:
