What is Labour Day?
Labour Day, or May Day, honors working people and their rights. It is a public holiday on the 1st of May in many countries, though some, such as the United States and Canada, keep it in September.
Ways to mark the day
- Enjoy a day off, if it is a holiday where you live.
- Join a march or a local event.
- Spend the first spring day outside: picnics are a tradition in many places.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 1st of May on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
