Let the coin make the call
Two options and no way to choose? Give one to heads and the other to tails, press the button, and it is decided. No more going back and forth.
The trick to using it well
Pay attention to the moment the coin is in the air. If you catch yourself hoping for one side, you already know what you want, and the coin has done its job, whatever it shows.
When to toss a coin
- Who starts: the classic way to begin a match or a board game.
- Small decisions: pizza or pasta, stay in or go out, this film or that one.
- Fair arguments: who does the dishes, or who gets the front seat.
- Friendly bets: call it before it lands.
Is it fair?
The result comes from your browser’s random number generator, so both sides have the same chance on every toss. The last result has no effect on the next one: after five heads in a row, tails is still only 50 : 50. The count below shows how it evens out over time.
Best of three
Did not like the answer? That tells you something too. If you still want a rematch, keep tossing and see the earlier results in the history.
