Seven groups of dogs
- Herding dogs – bred to move sheep and cattle, and still the cleverest workers.
- Working dogs – guarding, pulling, rescuing: the big ones.
- Terriers – small, fast and afraid of nothing.
- Retrievers and gundogs – bred to work with a hunter, which is why they are so easy to train.
- Hounds – following a scent or running one down by sight.
- Companion dogs – bred for laps and company.
- Spitz breeds – thick coats, curled tails, northern origins.

What to spin it for
