How to play
- One player sits in the hot seat – a chair in the middle, or just everybody’s attention.
- The others take turns to spin the wheel and ask the question it lands on.
- The player in the hot seat answers honestly. One pass per round is allowed.
- After five questions, or one minute, the next player takes the seat.
Questions from silly to deep
The wheel mixes light questions – a superpower, a song to walk in to – with a few that make people think: the bravest thing, something to be proud of. Every question leaves the wheel once it has been asked, so the next player gets new ones.
Hot seat in the classroom
Teachers use the hot seat for speaking practice and to get to know a new class: one student answers, the rest ask. In a language lesson, the questions are the practice. It works for characters too: a student plays a person from a book or from history, and the class asks the questions in character.
