How it works
- Choose how many teams play – two to six – and give them names.
- Each team has a pad in its colour on the screen and a key on the keyboard: A, L, Q, P, Z and M, far enough apart for everybody to reach theirs.
- Read the question. The first team to buzz lights up, the page plays its sound, and everybody else is locked out.
- Right answer: Right +1. Wrong: Wrong -1. Either way the buzzers open for the next question – or press Open the buzzers to let the others try.
One screen, many hands
- A tablet in the middle of the table – every team taps its pad; several fingers at once are told apart, and the first finger down wins.
- A laptop – each team presses its key.
- A projector – Full screen makes the pads and the scores big enough for the room, with the quizmaster at the keyboard.
For the quizmaster
The keyboard runs the show: Enter opens the buzzers, + gives the team that buzzed a point, – takes one away. The scores stay on the pads and are kept on this device, so a pub quiz survives a closed laptop.
