What is New Year’s Eve?
New Year’s Eve is the last day of the year, celebrated around the world with parties, fireworks and a countdown to midnight.
Ways to mark the day
- Plan the party early, and invite people before they make other plans.
- Write down your best moments of the year, and read them out at dinner.
- Choose your resolution: the New Year’s Resolutions Wheel can help.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 31st of December on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
