Deal the roles
- Type the players’ names, or set how many play.
- Check the Roles in this game – two mafia members, a doctor, a detective and civilians for everybody else – and change the numbers if you like.
- Press Deal and pass the phone round; each player looks alone and presses Hide it and pass on.
- The narrator starts the first night.
The roles
- Mafia members know each other, wake at night and choose a victim.
- Doctor chooses one player each night to save – themselves too, once.
- Detective points at one player each night; the narrator nods if it is mafia.
- Civilians discuss during the day and vote to eliminate a suspect.
How a round goes
Night: everybody closes their eyes, the narrator wakes the mafia, then the doctor, then the detective. Day: the narrator says who was attacked and whether the doctor saved them, and the town votes. The town wins when the mafia is gone; the mafia wins when they are as many as the rest.
For the narrator
The narrator does not get a role. Show everything reveals every card when the game is over.
