What is World Radio Day?
World Radio Day is a UNESCO day. The date recalls the start of United Nations Radio in 1946.
Ways to mark the day
- Tune in to a station from another country.
- Listen to a local station instead of your usual playlist.
- Make a short radio show with children, with a phone as the microphone.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 13th of February on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
