How it works
The wheel lands on a letter, and you choose its code word. These words were picked so that they are hard to mistake on a bad line, even between people with different first languages.
Your score and your run
Every right answer adds to the Score, and the run counts how many you got right in a row. Best run remembers your record on this device.
Pick the topics
Three groups of letters. Learn them in order: A to I first.
Easier or harder
Under Quiz settings choose how many Answers to choose from, and switch on Take the ones I got right off the wheel to work through the whole set until nothing is left.
Where it is used
- On the phone: spelling a name, an email address or a booking code.
- Aviation and shipping: pilots and sailors use it every day.
- The army and the police, and amateur radio.
Alfa and Juliett are spelled that way on purpose, so that speakers of other languages pronounce them correctly.
