How to play
- Split into two teams and find paper and crayons.
- Tick the decks and press Play.
- One child looks at the word and draws it: no letters, no talking.
- The team shouts guesses. Guessed it? Got it, then the next word.
- When time is up, count the words. Then it is the other team’s turn.
For little ones
Words are short and simple, and things a young child can draw in a few lines. If someone cannot read yet, whisper the word to them. Add time, or play with no timer and no points at all.
Learning while playing
Drawing and guessing builds vocabulary, and it is an easy way to practice new words in a language lesson. Add this week’s words under Your own words.
Pictionary is a trademark of Mattel; this is a free word generator for the drawing game of the same idea, played with paper and a pen.
