Four minutes, done properly
This timer opens on the classic high intensity pattern: 20 seconds as hard as you can, 10 seconds to breathe, eight times. That is four minutes, and they are longer than they sound.
How to do a session
- Warm up for five minutes first, with easy movement.
- Choose one or two exercises: squats, burpees, mountain climbers, sprints on the spot.
- Press Start and go at the first beep.
- Rest properly in every break, and stop if something hurts.
- Cool down and stretch afterwards.
Make it fit
New to this? Try 30 seconds of work and 30 of rest, or fewer rounds. You can change the times under the timer, and they are kept on this device. For exercise ideas, spin the HIIT Workout Generator.
A word of care
High intensity training is hard on the heart and joints. If you have a health condition or have not exercised for a long time, ask a doctor first and begin gently.
