What is World Poetry Day?
World Poetry Day is a UNESCO day that celebrates poetry and the many languages it is written in.
Ways to mark the day
- Read a poem out loud, even to yourself.
- Write a short one: four lines is enough.
- Send a poem to someone instead of a message.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 21st of March on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
