What is St. Patrick’s Day?
St. Patrick’s Day honors the patron saint of Ireland. It has become a celebration of Irish culture around the world, with parades, music and a great deal of green.
Ways to mark the day
- Wear something green, the color of the day.
- Listen to Irish music, or try a few steps of an Irish dance.
- Join a parade: many big cities hold one.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 17th of March on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
