What is April Fools’ Day?
April Fools’ Day is the day for harmless tricks and made-up news. People in many countries play jokes on each other, and even newspapers sometimes join in.
Ways to mark the day
- Plan a harmless prank: a joke is only good if everyone can laugh at it.
- Swap the sugar and the salt labels, and warn people before anyone cooks.
- Be ready: check the news twice on that morning.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 1st of April on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
