What is Christmas Eve?
Christmas Eve is the evening before Christmas Day. In many countries it is the main celebration, with the family dinner and the presents, while in others it is the last night of waiting.
Ways to mark the day
- Cook together: many families keep to the same dishes every year.
- Wrap the last presents before the children go to bed.
- Watch a favorite Christmas film, or sing carols.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 24th of December on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
