What is Human Rights Day?
Human Rights Day marks the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations in 1948.
Ways to mark the day
- Read the Declaration: it is short, and in hundreds of languages.
- Talk about one of its articles in class or at home.
- Support an organization that defends people’s rights.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 10th of December on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
