Countdown to World Teachers’ Day

What is World Teachers’ Day?

World Teachers’ Day marks a 1966 international agreement on the rights and duties of teachers. In many countries, schools use it to thank their staff.

Ways to mark the day

• Write a short thank you note to a teacher, current or former.
• Tell a teacher what you remember from their lessons.
• Organize a small surprise with the rest of the class.

How the countdown works

The clock counts down to the 5th of October on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
