What is World Oceans Day?
World Oceans Day celebrates the seas that cover most of the planet, and draws attention to what is harming them.
Ways to mark the day
- Visit the sea or an aquarium, if you can.
- Pick up litter from a beach or a river: most rubbish in the sea comes from land.
- Watch a nature film about ocean life.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 8th of June on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
