What is International Mountain Day?
International Mountain Day is a United Nations day for the mountains that give much of the world its fresh water, and for the people who live on them.
Ways to mark the day
- Plan a hike, even a small hill will do.
- Look up the highest peak of your own country.
- Leave no trace: bring back everything you take up.
How the countdown works
The clock counts down to the 11th of December on your own device’s time, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are. When the day is over, it starts again for next year. Full screen puts it on a classroom board or a big screen. To count down to something of your own, enter it under Your own event.
